2022 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners dress up to celebrate at Nordstrom

“I truly believe we have developed a new generation of talent, and we have done so with the support of the industry,” said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. In an annual tradition, industry leaders gather at Nordstrom’s American Bar in Manhattan’s flagship store to celebrate 2022 CFDA/Vogue recipient of the Fashion Fund (of course, great style).

Attendees included Nordstrom’s Jian DeLeon, designers Christian Cowan, Sally Singer, Jacquelyn Jablonski and Paloma Elsesser. “It feels really cool when I’m mostly thinking about legacy and how these things can be a tool in someone’s process or [becoming] a mentor,” Elsesser told Vogue.

Each of the ten designers (bonus 11 by designer duo No Sesso) provided a Unique Perspectives Their perspectives are unique, but most importantly, timely for today’s world. In the lively space, guests can be seen wearing pieces from the current CVFF class. Abijako’s guests were and are wearing heads of state, with designer Aurora James wearing black boy knits.

As the CVFF community continues to grow and honor emerging talent, it also continues to support past Outstanding award recipient. Past winners, including Siyinq Qi of Private Policy and Danielle Frankel of her namesake label, joined the crowd to congratulate the new and next designers as they once stood their ground.

Following 2021 in the form of funds, this year CVFF designers received equal cash awards under the guidance of industry experts. This year’s designers include Jacques Agbobly of Black Boy Knits, Elena Velez, Felisha Noel of Fe Noel, Lauren Harwell Godfrey of Harwell Godfrey, Taofeek Abijako of Head of State, Conley Averett of Judy Turner, Colm Dillane of Kidsuper, Pia Davis and Autumn Randolph No Sesso, Omar Salam of Sukeina and Jackson Wiederhoeft of Wiederhoeft.
