MXGP QUALIFYING HEAT
First in the MXGP division today with Jeremy Seewer taking an early lead. Shortly into the moto, Seewer found himself on the ground with Mitch Evans and Jago Geerts running around for the lead. Geerts took the lead and clicked laps from there. Meanwhile, Team USA’s Eli Tomac struggled from the mid-section, stuck in sixth for most of the moto, before continuing his charge to the front. Little by little he moved up the field and eventually moved into second after passing Jeremy Seewer on the final lap. Jago Geerts leads all the way to the checkered flag and Seewer completes the MXGP qualifying heat podium. Here’s how the rest of the field crosses the line:

Next up is the MX2 qualifying heat, with Justin Cooper and Star Racing Yamaha rival Gilliam Farres jumping to the front. Cooper starts commanding the moto, starting from no way back. Behind him, Hunter Lawrence made some hard accusations to get Justin down a little bit, but it wasn’t enough. Farres stepped back only slightly to finish fourth behind Frenchman Marvin Musquin in third. Cooper won second-placed Hunter Lawrence by more than 18 seconds in qualifying. After watching his teammates moto qualifying, it was Chase Sexton next, ready to carry that momentum into the third and final qualifying race of the Open day. Chase was in the lead from the start and would stay there the entire race, battling Dylan Ferrandis for first place. In a bizarre incident, Ferrandis’ foot hit the rear wheel from a peg, giving Sexton some breathing room to lead the race. On the final lap, however, Sexton had a crash that gave Ferrandis the lead and won the race ahead of Chase. Jett Lawrence made an amazing debut on the 450, finishing third in the moto on his first outing. Here’s how others in the field have crossed the line:
