SportsLine’s exclusive model, created by DFS Pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model’s best bet since the reboot has risen by more than $9,500, winning game after game.
McClure’s model includes JT Poston’s best bet to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet hit +5500, and McClure’s best bet returned nearly $1,100 in the entire tournament. At the 2022 Masters, McClure was modeled on Scottie Scheffler’s first career major title just before the weekend.
Also, McClure’s best bets include a straight win for Colin Morikawa at the 2021 Open, even though he’s listed as a huge 40-1 long shot. The scene of Jon Rahm (10-1) winning his first career major at the 2021 U.S. Open is also modeled. Going into the weekend, Ram was two shots behind the lead, but the model still thought he was the winner.
The same model also locked up as many as 8 Grand Slams heading into the weekend. Those who followed it saw huge returns.

Best 2022 Fortinet Championship predictions
A big surprise the model calls for at the 2022 Fortinet Championship: Matsuyama, 8 PGA Tour The champion and one of the most popular favorites, stumbled this week and ended up outside the top five. Matsuyama got off to a solid start last season, winning two of his first six starts. However, the 2021 Masters champion struggled in the final game, finishing with a T-35 or worse in four of his past five events.
In addition, Matsuyama’s putts last season were inconsistent with his putts and ranked 114th in strokes scored: putts (-.028) and three-putts avoided (3.01%) rankings No. 121, which doesn’t bode well for his chance to win this week. He’s not a strong option to win it all, and has a much higher value in the 2022 Fortinet Championship.
Another surprise: Davis Riley has a strong title shot at 35-1 from long range. Riley has a better chance of winning it all than his odds suggest The hint is much better, so he’s the target for anyone looking for a huge payday.
To do well at Silverado (North), players need to consistently consume putts, and few do it better than Riley. In fact, the 25-year-old was 10th in average putts last season (1.727) and 29th overall in putts average (1.586). He ranks 16th in birdie average (4.15) and 4th in total birdies (390). These impressive numbers, combined with his high odds, make Riley a strong value pick for this week’s 2022 Fortinet Championship betting. See who else can choose here.
