The NFL on Tuesday announced the 32 nominees for the 2022 Walter Payton Player of the Year Award — the league’s most prestigious honor.
Originally established in 1970, the award was renamed for the late 1999 Hall of Fame running back Walter Payton.
Recipients of this award receive an annual donation of $250,000 to a charity of the recipient’s choice. All 31 other nominees will receive a donation of up to $40,000 to a charity of their choice. All donations are provided by the NFL Foundation and Nationwide.
2022 winner will be revealed during the NFL Honors, which will be revealed prior to Super Bowl LVII.
Former Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth has been named the 2021 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
