Mike Tauchman was the first thing I thought of one of the names. The Yankees drafted the left-handed outfielder late in spring training, and Tauchman (then 15) Contributed to a career year, hit rate. 277/. 277/.157 (57 OPS+) with this Runs and 40 RBI in
Tauchman was traded to the Giants the following April Traded for left-hander Wandy Peralta, who spent the 2019 season in Korea and is now in Triple-A for the Cubs. He’s not the point of this story, even though he’s popular at the club (maybe Brian Cashman should make a call.) The Yankees don’t necessarily need Tauchman today, but they do need a few like him.
Part of the problem with the Yankees today, one of
Aaron Hicks on offense almost no contribution. his OPS+ came into the game on Tuesday, took another look to make sure it wasn’t a misprint, which means he’s already 157 percentage is worse than the major league average.
Wondering if a team has $ is absolutely fair million salary, second in baseball, should have more in high Minors good depth. Having said that, what’s the solution? They could keep plugging in a Cavalry player like Jack Bowles, who fought for power in Triple-A but hurt his knee in the first inning as the Yankees in the Texas series, but nothing beats patience and Time is more helpful.
They need to get front line players back; Harrison Bader at Get activated on Tuesday, and while it’s not a cure-all, it’s certainly a start. If the first month of the season has taught us anything, it’s that the 2022 Yankees — it’s fun to watch sometimes –unusual.
