5 Times Politicians Attend the Met Gala

The Met Gala is often referred to as fashion’s biggest night, but over the years it has become the seasonal networking event for all walks of life. Attendees on the first Monday in May can more or less count on rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s most famous actors, models, singers, humanitarians, and even politicians. Here’s a roundup of five politicians who made star-studded cameos at past Met Galas.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

The congresswoman commonly known as the AOC is in 2021 made a splash at her Met Gala debut when she arrived at the event in a custom Brother Vellies gown that read “TAX THE RICH” in giant red letters. “Once they’re awarded, we’re never too comfortable at the dinner table,” says Aurora James, Founder and Creative Director of Brother Vellies and Percent ( Aurora James) oath, the way she said it. “We must always continue to push ourselves, our colleagues, our culture, our country forward.”

Hillary Clinton
