July 4th , almost half a century ago, Captain Andrew Parker Bowles and Kami La Chandre was married at the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London in front of guests. Needless to say, it was the most talked about social ritual of that notoriously hot British summer.
The newlyweds are both close to the royal family: Andrew Parker Bowles, whose parents are friends of the queen’s mother, served as a page to Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. On the other hand, she was already in a relationship with then-Prince Charles at the time. (At 2005, she eventually married Charles, and at 2005, officially became the Queen.)

with Andrew Parker Ball At Andrew Parker Bowles’ first wedding, Camilla wore a white gown with a bias-cut ruffled neckline, wide puff sleeves and silk voile mini-voile to match the neckline pattern. She wears a foot-long wide white veil adorned with the Cupid-Shander crown, sometimes called the Cupid diadem. The diamond-encrusted piece of jewelry was added to Camilla’s family collection by her grandmother, Sonia Keppel Cubitt, and was then passed on to her daughter, Rosalind Shand (Camilla’s mother). Years later, Camilla’s daughter Laura wore it when 2005 exchanged vows with Harry Lopes.
