Lily Atherton-Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin, the designers behind the London footwear label, brought together a group of trendy artists (Hope Atherton and Quintin Jones) and fashionistas (stylists) Kate Young and Beverley Nguyen and Vogue writer Lynn Yaeger) celebrated Design Week at the penthouse of their writer friend Tarajia Morrell, who co-hosted Design Week with Sarah Levine of Lehman Maupin Gallery.

“We wanted to celebrate all our friends in New York during Design Week and thank them for supporting us,” said Atherton-Hanbbury and Shyfrin. In fact, many of their loyal supporters turned up in their charming and surprisingly functional punt slippers – the duo are said to have been inspired to create Le Monde Beryl after a trip to the Venice Biennale.

The apartment is light filled with stunning views The wraparound patio, which has hosted countless celebrations over the years, has been at the Morrell home since 1970. Morrell, with the help of chef and food stylist Mariana Velasquez, creates exquisite sauces, including quail eggs with caviar, asparagus with gribiche sauce and a whole grilled salmon with cucumber scales.

As the sun set over the East River, guests sipped Souleil wine and mezcal Negronis, which was served by Spanish flamenco musician Jackson Scott that night. The acoustic guitar performance ended mid-pitched as the crowd serenaded the crowd.
