Earlier this month, Samsung opened the Android-based One UI 5 public beta for the Galaxy S 22 22 ) series, this jumps to Galaxy S 21 devices today as well. So far, testing programmes appear to have started in South Korea and the UK.
Registration requires the use of the Samsung Membership app, where you find the prominent One UI 5.0 Beta Program banner, tap, and register your details and device. Once done, it usually only takes a few minutes for you to be notified of the update.
The beta in question is marked as build G13xBXXU5ZVHE, where the “x” is based on the S
you have which of the trio is different. If you’re in the UK and want to try it out, please note that the beta is currently only available for SIM-free, unlocked devices. It’s unclear when it will become a carrier model.
One UI 5.0 will definitely have a bunch of further beta releases, and if you sign up for the beta program, you’ll receive each of them, released as an over-the-air update. Rumor has it that the final “stable” version of One UI 5.0 will be available for the S22 family in mid-October. It probably won’t land on the S21 model at the same time, but it shouldn’t be more than a few weeks behind either.
