This weekend in Las Vegas, Adele kicked off a five-month residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The singer was due to start the show in January, but famously postponed it a day before the premiere, saying the show “wasn’t ready yet.” The delay was certainly worth the wait: Adele performed her hit on a stage filled with dramatic fire-and-rain effects while wearing a custom look designed by Schiaparelli’s Daniel Roseberry. (Adele has been a big fan of Schiaparelli lately.)
Her Vegas-inspired look is fused with Adele’s signature glamorous Old Hollywood style. It consists of a black silk velvet shift gown with a bateau neckline and adorned with a low-waisted satin ribbon fastened with a gold jeweled clasp studded with crystal pavé. Like many of Adele’s award-winning stage looks, this is modern showgirl attire—basically requiring a stage. Over the next five months of shows, we expect more bespoke pieces from the fashion house. Clearly a good start has been made.
