UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal believes he will become champion sooner rather than later.
“Gamebred” has been on hiatus since defeating Colby Covington at UFC 272 in March. The bout was the third straight loss for the welterweight star. After the loss, Masvidal allegedly attacked “chaos” at a bar in Miami weeks after their fight.
It is worth mentioning that the 37-year-old man claimed his innocence after his arrest. Masvidal is currently facing felony charges related to the incident. If found guilty, he could face years in prison.
Jorge Masvidal is determined to be champion despite pending charges. The 37-year-old was linked with a match against Gilbert Burns last week, however, he later denied the match had been set. “Durinho” later suggested that Masvidal didn’t want the match.

If the matchup with the Brazilians is not on the table, then this time The middleweight star wants another fight. That game will be the champion, current 170-pound champion Leon Edwards. “Rocky” clinched the title with a vicious header knockout Kamaru Usman on Saturday.
It looks like Jorge Masvidal likes his odds in that match. In March 2019, the pair had a famous behind-the-scenes brawl at the UFC in London. After the altercation, Masvidal hit Edwards with a three-pistol combo, leaving him bleeding after they separated.
In the days since the British won the title, his opponents have been calling for the title. Masvidal famously quoted his “three-piece suit and soda” and said he was going to London. Now, he doubles down on that statement.
On Twitter, the welterweight star announced his shot and said he would soon be a champion. While his return date and opponent have yet to be determined, Masvidal appears eager to return to action.
