Writer and director Alec Griffin Ross found his Billy Knight.
Al Pacino will be Ross’s debut, Billy Knight , and opposite stars Charlie Heaton and Diana Silvers in a project he describes as “a love letter to cinema”.
The plot follows graduate students Alex (Heaton) and Emily (Silvers) as they pursue their careers as aspiring filmmakers. Alex is also grappling with the loss of his father, a failed screenwriter who left him a box of unfinished scripts and a handkerchief embroidered with the name “Billy Knight.” Desperate to discover his identity, Alex embarks on a Hollywood adventure to track down the mysterious and reclusive Billy Knight played by Pacino.
Billy Knight Produced by Autumn Bailey-Ford and Cameron Burnett of Prominent Prods., Sevier Crespo and Amanda Kiely. Executive Producers are Sarah Sarandos, Josh Clayton, Kirk Martin and Peter Bortel of Our World Films. Production began this week in Los Angeles, with CAA acquiring the film rights.
“ Billy Knight is a love letter to cinema, steeped in the history of this great art form It’s also the story of two struggling artists, a young man’s introspective struggle to find his voice and discover what’s important in life,” Ross said in a statement. “Having the unparalleled Al Pacino and the incredible talent of Charlie Heaton and Diana Silvers in the film is a dream come true.”
Burnett added: “ Billy Knight pays homage to the great artists and craftsmen who created the creative engine we call Hollywood. We started Prominent Prods. Its mission was to discover new ideas like Ale Such artists of our generation and help expand their unique horizons. We couldn’t be more thrilled to embark on this journey with such an amazing cast and crew.”
PA, represented by CAA Sino recently starred in Ridley Scott Gucci House . Heaton is best known for his work on Stranger Things and he is represented by Gersh, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and law firm Sloan Offer.
Silvers are represented by WME, Entertainment 360 and Jackoway, Austen. She’s a model-turned-actress who made a splash in Booksmart and has since been featured in Ma, Ava and Space Force .
Ross was independently represented by Cowan “Country” Parker who assisted in the production of the film.
