The filming location of Anderson’s latest feature film (below), which takes place in a fictional American desert town around , will be Scarlett Johansson as movie star, Tom Hanks as a grumpy grandfather , Jason Schwartzman plays a recent widower trying to fix his car. Also, there is an alien.
“I don’t like the way that guy looks at us, alien. Like we’re doomed,” Schwartzman says in the middle of a scene full of charming vignettes , these vignettes are all Anderson’s signature style.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “The itinerary for the Junior Stargazers/Space Cadet Conference – organizing scholarship and academic competitions for students and parents from across the country – was changed world events.”
Anderson newcomers Johnson and Hanks, Joining his stable of players such as Schwartzman, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Jeff Goldblum, Tony Revolori and Liev Schreiber. The massive A-list ensemble includes Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie and Jake Ryan.
Focus Features will be released in June in limited release prior to nationwide rollout in June . Asteroid City
