Following the glamorous coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6 May, Sunday saw an eclectic – and sometimes surreal – coronation concert that saw There was a , – Huge crowds poured into Windsor Castle to celebrate the monarch’s arrival. In line? From Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That to Teeva Savage and Nicole Scherzinger, plus special appearances from Tom Cruise, Joan Collins, Ncuti Gatwa and more . Everyone at the show really got something
DJ Pete Tong kicked off with Rudimental’s “Feel the Love” Prologue, followed by the arrival of Olly Murs, singing “Dance with Me Tonight” surrounded by a cheerful dance troupe. Then there’s piano maestro Lang Lang; regal Tiva Savage; opera legends Andrea Bocelli and Bryn Terfel; Paloma Faith in a voluminous fuchsia gown; and Take That reunites. The product has a wide range, to say the least.
A group of celebrities pay homage to the king
Everyone from Stella McCartney respects the king’s dedication to conservation Promised, to Kermit the Frog’s successful infiltration of the royal box, and countless A-list stars appearing in the show’s pre-shooting episodes, from Joan Collins and Hugh Jackman to Tom Jones, Richard E. Min, Tom Cruise, Pierce Brosnan and Winnie the Pooh. One clip also hilariously nods to the new monarch’s love of dancing.

The warmest reception was For—who else? — reserved by the incomparable Lionel Richie. Wearing a sequined silver jacket, he rocked “Easy as Sunday Morning” and then “Long All Night,” accompanied by a touring saxophonist, with members of the public and royals – including King Charles himself – in their seats.
