Amal Clooney has often worn vintage pieces on the red carpet, from John Galliano slip dresses to Noughties Alexander McQueen. However, at the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards in Paris in May, she opted for another sustainable option, eco-couture.
At the event, Clooney – speaking on stage about the importance of standing up for women’s rights – wore a dazzling silver dress from Julie de Libran’s fall2022 couture collection , embellished with sequins and feathered hems. The Paris-based couturier creates her one-off designs using slow-moving materials to reduce waste—making it the perfect addition to a human rights barrister’s wardrobe. 2022
