Amazon Studios are heading to the supermarket.
The company has acquired Jennifer Harrington’s feature-length script Hell’s Belles. This comedy follows three female grocery store workers who have always wanted to stand up to their loathsome boss, Ron, but have never had the courage. After discovering that Ron is actually Satan and is about to take over the universe, they must somehow make up their minds.
This project is being developed at Amazon with longtime production partners Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar. Hell’s Belles marks some kind of reshuffling for Harrington and the duo, at least in terms of development. In the early days 2021, Sony Snatched Harrington’s original spec script This is the end of Liz as we know it in production amid stiff competition from Kasdan and Mar.
Except for Hell’s Belles and Liz, Harrington also worked on the Apple TV+ documentary Dear…, where she serves as co-executive producer. Harrington is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment and law firm Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner Endlich & Gellman. The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and 2020 of Jumanji: the next level , the upcoming Red One on the horizon. The big-budget holiday flick starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans and Lucy Liu is also available for Amazon Studios and its Prime Video Produced by Mar. Mar and Kasdan with American Born Chinese on the way. The Disney+ series stars Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh , Stephanie Hus, Ke Huy Quan, Jimmy O. Yang, Ben Wang, James Hong, Ronny Chieng, Poppy Liu, Wu Yanzu, etc. They are represented by WME and Sloss Law.
