Amber Ruffin is planning a move to primetime.
Peacock’s Amber Ruffin Show host and writer and performer of Cy Smeyers’ Late Night will star, write and executive produce a film titled
Non-Evil Twin at NBC . Former Black-ish and Kenan showrunner Kenny Smith is writing and performing with Ruffin Produced by, Late Night writer and actress Jenny Hagel will also executive produce. Olivia Morris is the joint EP.
Universal Television is behind this project. Ruffin and Hagel (via their Straight to Cards production company) and Smith both have overall deals at the studio.
Multi-Camera Non-Evil Twins Follow a woman (Ruffin) who is forced to intervene in her sister as fortune 500 the role of company leader – even though she knows very little about business, much less the way her sister runs a company.
Ruffin hosts, wrote and executive produced three seasons of The Amber Ruffin Show on Peacock. She’s been nominated for five Emmy Awards for her writing, once for her Peacock Show and four times as a part of the Late Night team.
Ruffin and Hagel formed Straight to Cards last year and signed a general deal with Universal TV. Non-Evil Twin was the first item to emerge from the trade.
