Platform LA in Los Angeles has become a mecca of shops and restaurants worth visiting in recent months. The new kid on the block is Atrio, interior designer Jeremiah Brent’s fantastic first boutique, where museum-worthy collections of old and new furniture, custom ceramics, and beautiful pantry items feel like a nod to higher living personal invitation.
Brent, Berkus and their two children Poppy and Oskar warmly embraced guests like Athena Calderone and Drew Scott as they entered the store, before letting them explore the boutique’s myriad of favorites. Hanging around the furniture with a charcoal margarita or champagne in hand, guests set the dress code to “reflect Atrio’s palette with cocktail attire in the evening”, looking in earthy shades of brown, black and metallics As elegant as the store itself.
In the evening, Brent made a brief speech to welcome the guests. He talked about the store’s ethos that the good life should be within reach, and mentioned his grandmother, whose beautiful greenhouse was the store’s inspiration.
As the night draws to a close, it’s easy to mistake this event for a Brent and Burks event Intimate cocktail party at home. The feat of a shop opening party, and an exciting way to welcome a new boutique to Los Angeles.
