Back at 2017, Justus Bobbitt and Brandon Salters met at an after-work happy hour at a Washington DC lounge “Me and Some guys were working there, and he came in with a friend,” Justus recalled. “We talked for hours that night, and he asked me out on a date.” She responded quickly, “Yes! When?” He said, “Tomorrow.” They’ve been inseparable ever since.
The two got engaged in September 14, 2017. “This date also happens to be the anniversary of my mother’s death,” Justus said. “I told Brandon I’ve always hoped that day would be replaced by happier memories. And he did just that — during a pandemic!” Brandon told Justo in front of family and friends in National Harbor, Maryland Adams proposes.
After the proposal, the two began planning their dream wedding on November 5th, 2022, at a Jupiter, Florida In a private family home. “It was the most perfect day,” Justus recalls. “Our wedding planning process was a dream. The incomparable Jennifer [Zabinski, who also planned Aunt Serena Williams’s wedding in New Orleans] and the JZ Events team made it a pleasure. The ceremony takes place in the garden before sunset. After the ceremony, the guests were in Network during cocktails, then move on to a reception for dinner and presentations, followed by dancing. “The Sound House band is fantastic,” Justus said. “Somehow they knew all my favorite things and we danced all night!” Even months later, Justus still can’t stop looking back at the photos and videos of the big day on her phone. “I can still feel the energy,” she said. “It was the best day of my life and I am so thankful to my family for giving me the wedding of my dreams. My heart is full.”
