Ana Khouri's art jewelry on display at Christie's Paris

After a three-year hiatus from High Jewelery Week, Ana Khouri returns to Paris on July 3 with an opening at Christie’s. “They really saw me,” explains Khouri, who is also a sculptor, “an artist, a woman. Most of my peers are older men.” Known for its modern and clever approach to jewelry design, it’s more like a work of art. Her pieces are characterized by a simplicity that belies the intricate craftsmanship that goes into making them.

“Beauty lies in the combination of the stone and the design itself,”

– piece collection. Important stones — such as 42. carat rubellite and 5. carat Natural fancy pink ruby diamonds – permeating the entire collection. Featherweight ear cuffs studded with 7.42 total carats of pear shaped diamonds, gold twist choker necklace set with crystals, and link necklace set with diamonds – all Gems were once – once-in-a-lifetime discoveries. Her vision may be clean and direct, but it’s definitely not boring.

Capitalizing on her accolades, such as winning the prestigious ANDAM Jewelry Design Award in France 2017 ), Khouri was able to collaborate with some of the finest and notorious closed studios in Paris Collaborations, combined with her connections to some of the rarest gemstone collectors, allow her to imbue her jewelry with glamour.

This isn’t the first time Khouri has presented her collection outside of the world of traditional jewelry. Having previously exhibited at Philips, Sotheby’s and TEFAF fairs, by aligning her independent label with the art world, she not only connects her creative origins but is able to stand out at a time when the biggest houses are in Paris.

Khouri describes the exhibition act as “fragile” – a common admission by artists, but somewhat surprising for a jeweler with so many resources at work power and existence. “My work communicates how I feel, what I think, my past, my future goals, every part of my life,” she said. It’s this, along with her three brand pillars: great design, quality gemstones and sustainability (the designer is a voice for fair-mined gold), that allows Khouri to push the boundaries of the week as an independent designer.
