Analyst: Apple could produce 25% of iPhones in India by 2025

Apple products are made almost entirely in China, but the company has been looking to diversify to make its supply chain more resilient. The pandemic disrupted those plans, but now they’re starting all over again.

Reuters, citing a JPMorgan analyst report, said Apple wants to take action 25% of global iPhone production by to India. Currently, this ratio is about 5%.

Not just iPhones, the report claims that approximately 651% of Apple’s products — iPads, Apple Watches, AirPods and Macs — – Will be moved out of China by 2025 (currently again about 5% of these products).

Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India since 2017. It started with the original SE and manufactured units for the local market only. However, it has since added new models (including iPhone 13) and started exporting iPhones made in India.
