When The Real Housewows of New York City (RHONY) premieres When 07 Season 1 this Sunday at 9pm (ET), A brand new cast of upper-tier characters will be further in the spotlight as part of Bravosphere.
Unrest Season marred by racism allegations The long-running franchise introduces its first black actor, Bravo and executive producer Andy Cohen with a new group of wealthy friends and potential enemies replaces the traditional group of Apple women. This season, cameras will follow the lives of fashion content creator Sai De Silva, model Ubah Hassan, luxury real estate developer Erin Lichy, former J.Crew executive creative director and president Jenna Lyons, publicist Jessel Taank and communications professional Brynn Whitfield.
While Cohen admitted that “we’re rolling the dice” when it comes to casting changes, the reality show The TV mogul also told The Hollywood Reporter in the Q&A below, “We interview a lot of people and we’ve met them in various ways since Sunday. To the people, and then we ended up picking this group. We put a lot of thought into that, and I think it shows who we actually pick.”

We are dealing primarily with unscripted shows here. I can’t really talk about it because I’m not in charge of Bravo’s programming, but The Real Housewives of New York is already packaged, produced, and finished, so it doesn’t totally affect it.

This will definitely affect our guests. I think all the talk shows see the actors, the SAG people, they’re not promoting their movies. So who the guests are will be a bit of a challenge.
jumping into the new season of RHONY, you said this is the “right group of women” to reboot the series. In particular, how does this cast respond to criticisms about the lack of variety and interest in the Real Housewives of New York series?
What makes the right group of women is that they are a cohesive group. We are looking for a group of friends, those in an existing relationship. Some of them know each other, some don’t. They’re fun, they’re fun, they’re aspirational, they’re stylish. They live their lives. They open up about their lives in front of the camera. They are all dynamic. They are professionals. I think they represent a different New York than we’ve seen before. They are varied. They’re all over the city, giving them a fresh, vibrant feel.

I can’t really add something that already exists. We’re now focusing on who’s on the show and what the show is. This could have happened in the first few days of production, so I’ve said all I had to say. On a lot of the shows we do, we start the season with a group of people, and sometimes people fall out for various reasons. Not quite… what’s that word? unique.
How risky is it to fully restart the New York franchise? Here’s a test to see if otherHousewivesfranchises might need an overhaul? Is it possible to go back to the original formula?
This is back to the original formula This is a Housewife show, and it feels like it. We’re rolling the dice here, and I think we have a team of Bravo, me and Shed Media that’s been doing this for a long time, so we’re not taking things lightly. We painstakingly remade the show. We looked at a lot of people and got to know people in various ways from Sunday before we chose this group. We’re very careful about that, and I think that shows in who we actually pick.

you can Talk about and choose to include the original cast in the “ Ultimate Girls’ Trip ” spinoff?
We were looking for content when Peacock launched, and Girls Trip is something we’ve been talking about for years. This is not a new idea, nor is it an original one. We needed shows that would drive audience demand for Peacock. It’s definitely an off-the-wall thought that people really want to see.
Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan have their own spinoff, Luann and Sonja : Welcome to Crappie Lake. How did this happen?
I have nothing to do with that show. It was voted for Bravo. I think it’s absolutely brilliant. I think it’s hysterical, and I think the timing is good because it gives fans of the last few seasons of RHONY the comedy they’re looking for with Luann and Sonja.
Are there any plans to keep the original New York cast in other series besides the ones already launched?
So far I think we’re good. We have Sonja and Luann on our show, and we have The Ultimate Girls Trip and traditional RHONY women, and we have this. It’s a pretty full plate. It looks like the original RHONY women wanted to do a girls trip instead of filming in NYC, and we listened to them. So, let’s wait and see.
Expansion to the entire Bravo Universe, Vanderpump rules for the first time While spinning full burst – from Beaver The Real Housewives of Lee Hill . How has this success upped the stakes for the reality series and what to expect from the new Bravo series?
I think the only risk it poses is that we’re always on our show react to personal stories in the lives of people, just as we have always done. I think this is an example. The final season of Vanderpump Rules was truly emblematic of the type of non-fiction storytelling Bravo is known for.
Can you talk about the situation Raquel Leviss’ for the season 11?
I can not.

I can’t say anything about Vanderpump rules will happen. We’re filming the show right now, and we’re trying to keep it under wraps.

This is a new criticism. It’s really stupid, that’s all. I think this is too lame to even respond.

I’ve been in touch with Kyle. I can’t really speak for her, but I certainly wish her the best.
