Aniplex Acquires Filmmaker Company Origamix Partners, Rebrands as Myragon Studio

© Origamix PartnerSony Music Entertainment announced on Wednesday that its subsidiary Aniplex wholly acquired the film director and screenwriting management firm Origamix Partners as the new subsidiary, which will change the company name to Myriagon Studio on Thursday, June 1. The company will now produce live-action content, in addition to its previous business of managing creators and IP development.

The acquisition aims to develop content for a global audience and single out director Shinsuke Satō as the center of these efforts. Sato recently directed the successful live-action series, as well as being a Live-action film adaptation of the manga. He has previously directed movies, as well as live-action , , , , and Movie.

Myliagon Studio will also begin a strategic partnership with Korean content studio Imaginus immediately, and Imaginus head Ji Jin-hee will serve as Myliagon Studio’s executive advisor as it Produce “premium” live-action series.
