The Apple AirPods Pro 2 TWS earphones, released earlier this month and available yesterday, are receiving their first firmware update.
The new firmware is version 5A 377 and the release notes say it comes with bug fixes and “other improvements”, but we don’t know which ones Bugs squashed and what this update improves.
Firmware updates on AirPods are usually delivered while charging within Bluetooth range of an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and there is no standard way to manually install an update, so you’ll have to wait until the update to your headset.
However, if you don’t know what firmware your AirPods have, make sure your iPhone/iPad is running the latest OS version, open the Settings app, and go to Bluetooth> AirPods. Now hit the “More Info” button denoted by an “i” and scroll down to the “About” section to find the firmware version.
On a Mac, Option-click Apple’s Apple logo menu and select System Information. Now click on “Bluetooth” and check the firmware version under your AirPods.
