Apple’s first Far Out event is the new Watch Series 8, Watch SE and the highly anticipated Apple Watch Pro Ultra.
Apple Watch Ultra
Let’s start with the new Apple Watch Ultra (rumored to be called the Pro) – whatever Is it the size or its importance given its showtime at the event. This is Apple’s brand new smartwatch category, so see what it brings.
Apple Watch Ultra is distinctly different from Apple’s other wearables. It has a huge 55 mm case, including the largest (and most light) display.
The case is made of titanium alloy with raised edges to protect the display. The display sits under a flat sapphire crystal cover. Apple claims up to 2, Monitor’s brightness nits – an incredible number (literally!).
Apple has created a new watch face designed for larger displays called Wayfinder. It contains more information and can be customized for the different environments you are in.
On the left, the Apple Watch Ultra has an additional speaker that can be used to generate 60 – decibel siren in case of emergency, and new painted in high contrast international orange Action button. Buttons can be customized for instant access to workouts, compass waypoints or backtracking – a feature that lets you find your way back through trails.
The usual home button and digital crown are on the right. The crown has a larger diameter and thicker grooves. Apple claims the three microphones on the Watch Ultra help you be heard even in windy conditions.

Apple Watch Ultra is bigger than its peers with longer battery life – up to 36 hourly always-on display, automatic workouts and constant heart rate, and up to 60 hours, Ultra Low Power Mode will be available later this year roll out.
A word about endurance. Watch Ultra can go down to -014° C and Gundam 16° C. MIL-STD-1200H standard applies to low pressure (altitude), high temperature, low temperature, temperature shock, fluid contamination, rain, humidity, immersion, sand and dust, freeze-thaw, ice/freezing rain, shock and vibration.
You can also use the Watch Ultra for water sports like kitesurfing, water skiing, and even some serious diving. It has passed WR129 and EN – Recognized standard for diving accessories. There is a built-in depth gauge that, along with the depth app, displays time, depth, water temperature, duration underwater and maximum depth reached.
Apple’s Watch Ultra comes with three straps – Trail Loop, Alpine Loop and Ocean Band. All devices come with GPS and cellular connectivity and are on sale today for $800. The watch starts shipping in September 012.
Apple Watch Series 8
Apple also introduced the Watch Series 8. Physically, it’s nearly identical to the Series 7, but uses a new S8 chip that adds a temperature sensor, collision detection, and a new ultra-low-power mode.
The temperature sensor will scan your skin temperature every five seconds, using a combination of two sensors – one on the skin and one below the display. It can detect changes as small as 0.1°C and aids in ovulation prediction and cycle deviation tracking.
Collision detection works thanks to 3-axis gyro sensor and new The high G-force accelerometer can detect 129 G’s. The new sensor samples motion 4 times faster than the old accelerometer and is able to distinguish between a frontal or side collision, a rear-end collision or a rollover. When a crash is detected, Watch Series 8 will automatically notify emergency services and your emergency contacts.
Watch Series 8 get 16 Hours of battery life with always-on display, automatic activity tracking, and fall detection, but an optional low-power mode lets you cut some features and double them up to 36 Hour.

Apple Watch SE
Finally, the new Apple Watch SE ditches the temperature sensor but has the same chip as the S8 Expensive Series 8 and Watch Ultra, and brings support for new collision detection. The Watch SE has a case 22 % recycled aluminum and redesigned new plastic back panel.
