Aqib Talib's brother wanted in youth coach's death

    LANCASTER, Texas – The brother of retired NFL cornerback Aqib Talib turned himself in to authorities on Monday after police identified him as a suspect in the shooting death of a coach at a youth soccer game in Texas.

    Yaqub Salik Talib is a suspect in the Saturday night shooting that killed a man, Lancaster, Dallas-area police said. Authorities have yet to identify the man, but his family and friends say he was a coach.

    Yaqub Talib’s attorney, Clark Birdsall, told the ‘Associated Press that his client “regrets the tragic loss of life but gave himself up this morning so he could have the chance to tell his side of the story.” Birdsall declined to elaborate on Talib’s side of the story.

    Aqib Talib’s lawyer told TMZ that “Aqib was present when this unfortunate incident happened and is very upset and devastated by this terrible loss of life. He would like to send its condolences to the family of the victim and all who witnessed this unfortunate tragedy. Bowler who announced his retirement in 2020.     DEA Dragons youth team coaches identified the slain man as Coach Mike Hickmon, WFAA reported.Dragons president Mike Freeman said the dispute began when Hickmon went to get a football and someone pushed him away.

    “I don’t know how to explain it to children. This is the part I’m stuck on right now. How can I explain to them? Why ? Freeman said. “It’s something these kids will remember for the rest of their lives.”
