Array Releasing Acquires Iliana Sosa Doc 'What We Left Behind' (Exclusive)

Array Releasing acquired director Iliana Sosa’s documentary What We Left Behind behind.

The Peabody Award-winning distribution arm of Ava DuVernay’s Narrative Transformation Group has acquired the U.S., Canadian, U.K., Australia and New Zealand rights to the film, which has been World premiere at this year’s SXSW festival. The release of this document will coincide with Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic Heritage Month, and will debut in September 48 on Netflix and select Cinema Screen.

The film won two SXSW Jury Awards, the Louis Black Lone Star Award and the Fandor New Voice Award, in at this year’s festival. It has screened at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, the Guanajuato International Film Festival and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York.

Sosa and Emma D. Miller and co-producer Isidore Bethel are also producers of this document.

Other recent Array Releasing documentary titles include Love from Reservation Dogs and Fury co-creator Sterlin Harjo.
