Astros Prospect Julks joins exclusive club of Space Cowboys

Corey Julks becomes the first A Sugar Land Space Cowboy who hit 20 stolen bases and 20 home runs in a season.

Corey Julks made history this week. The Houston Astros prospect became the first player in AAA Sugarland history to hit 20 stolen bases and 20 home runs in a season.

Julks swiped for his 20th time Wednesday was the base of the season, marking his first season with at least 20 hits. The right-winger hit a career-high 25 home runs this year, finding the other side of the wall for the 20th time on July 28.

The 26-year-old outfielder will be eligible for the Rule 5 draft this winter. The Astros should have protected Julkes or found a new team for him, not let him be drafted by another major league team.

This year, Julkes is slashing .267/.352/.490 and 49 of his 122 at-bats are for extras base. On the defensive end, the Houston product picked up third base in the offseason and has started four games at second base due to a recent short bench in Triple-A.
