The British Academy said on Wednesday that the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards will take place in its traditional February slot, with three competitions Oscar weeks early. “First held at 1949, the BAFTA Film Awards have grown to become one of the largest events on the global film calendar,” said BAFTA. “2024 will mark the arts charity’s 75 first film awards.” It noted that the 2022 version of the awards show peaked at 3.8 million viewers in the UK on BBC One, marking the show’s highest viewership since Rate.
