BAFTA TV Craft Awards: 'House of the Dragon,' 'This Will Hurt' Share the Spoils

HBO’s Game of Thrones Prequel House of the Dragon BBC/AMC’s medical comedy

This is Going to Hurt at 2023 BAFTA TV Craft Awards, celebrating 14 best behind-the-scenes TV talent.

Sunday’s event in London saw House of the Dragon win Makeup and Hairstyling, Voice: Fiction and a special visual and graphic effects. Also up for three honors, This Is Going to Hurt Writer: Adam Kay’s drama – his adaptation of his best-selling memoir about his time as a junior doctor — plus editorial: Fiction and screenplay actors.

There were a ton of first-time BAFTA winners on the night, others including Felicity Morris director of The Tinder Swindler : The Facts ; William Stefan Smith of Top Boy Director: Fiction; Lisa McGee, Writer: Comedy of Derry Girls; Jane Petrie, Costume Design for The Essex Serpent; Jessica Jones, Original Music: Facts Jimmy Savile: British Horror Story; Nicôle Lecky, Bryan Senti and Kwame ‘KZ’ Kwei-Armah JR, Original Music: FictionMood; Chas Appeti, Photography and Lighting: A Jungle Book; and Becky Sloan and Joe Pelling , production design Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.

The Television Craft Special Award by actor Adrian Presented by Adrian Lester to Kudos’ current head of production, Alison Barnett, in recognition of her pioneering role as one of the first female head of production in British television. 2023
