Less than a week after announcing his departure from Euphoria, the show’s Barbie Ferreira has found a new gig.
The actress joins Ariana DeBose at the House of Spoils, a psychological thriller from Amazon Prime Video and Blumhouse TV.
This feature was directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy from their own script, which was based on their original idea.
According to Amazon, Spoils follows an ambitious chef (DeBose) who opens her first restaurant, from Farm-to-table remote estate, where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor who shatters self-doubt…and the powerful spirit of the estate’s former owner, who threatens to sabotage her every moment.
Ferreira’s character is described as a hopeful but articulate sous chef, but her role in the episode is kept under wraps.
Amazon and Blumhouse TV have been working together since 2020 to produce shows and features for the streaming service. Spoils aims to premiere in multiple countries around the world. Production will begin this fall.
Produced by Jason Blum via Blumhouse; Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin and Drew Houpt from Secret Engine; and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilles ) and Greg Gilreath for divide and conquer.
Chris Macomber and Jeremy Gold of Blumhouse Television are executive producers.
Ferreira, who played high school Kat Hernandez for two seasons in HBO’s acclaimed and envelope-push series Euphoria , has Became a bold Gen Z name. She announced on Instagram last week that she “2020 had to say a very tearful goodbye to this character ” and would not be back for a third a season. Tensions with show creator Sam Levinson are rumored to be behind the development.
Featured, Ferreira in Timely Abortion Road Trip Comedy with HBO Max Unpregnant and on the big screen this summer in this Jordan Peele thriller Nope.
