Baum und Pferdgarten creative directors Helle Hestehave and Rikke Baumgarten draw from the fall 2023 collection of The Royal Tenenbaums The theme finds more resort inspiration in Margot Tenenbaum. “There’s so much more to her than we’ve shown in the fall collection,” Baumgarten said in a preview (vinyl snakeskin-print coat and bright pink down jacket), where the designers took a more subtle approach, digging deeper into the Excavated the classic style characteristics of the character. Her famous mink coats are reinterpreted in vegan leather coats with faux shearling collars, while her Lacoste polos reference striped cardigans paired with faux-leather paneled trousers. The slip dress in the bathroom scene (also visually referenced in the lookbook) was again in the form of a pink lace trim.
The most successful looks were a sheer tulle top and printed trousers, and a square striped shirt with a patterned green skirt. The minimalist gray vest and trousers felt out of place with the rest of the collection, but you can expect to see them on the streets of Copenhagen on a daily basis.
