Another day, another day A model-approved ugly shoe. This past fashion month, Bella Hadid has been relying on her Hoka Hoparas, which retail for $32. The style is a Franconian footwear: a cross between sandals (thanks to their rich tailoring!) and sneakers. I like to think of it as a “clog shoe” or even a “shoe skeleton”. Either way, it’s chic, you know, the ugly way. The upper features a rubber toe cap with small ridges reminiscent of the texture on the Louis Vuitton Epi bag. It opens at the back to reveal the heel; no naughty toe cleavage here.
Bella has worn several times in Paris so far This pair of shoes. She wore them as she left the Balenciaga fashion show. With her hair tied in a knot, she teamed it with an army green leather jacket with oversized buttons and shiny navy blue pants showing Hoparas. On another Paris night, she walked out in a long brown fur coat and black trousers, it was Hopalas. Maybe they were a welcome break from the heels she wore on the runway.
