Fall fashion may all be bundled, but on this week’s red carpet, celebrities continued to be drawn to summer’s skinny designs. The body-hugging silhouette—some with sexy cutout details— accentuates the shape in a tasteful way. It turns out that the skin is a cut on each side that changes throughout the year. At the premiere of Bones & All, Taylor Russell’s chic Loewe gown was also seen with a hip cutout featuring an oversized black bow at the front. Selena Gomez also hugged the bow on her silk one-shoulder Rodarte slip dress, which she wore to her hilarious new documentary Race Lena Gomez: My Mind and Me premiere.
Even this week’s more cover-up designs still have a body-conscious feel. Lupita Nyong’o’s beaded Alexander McQueen gown worn at the London premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, neckline Taller but complements the sleeveless silhouette with a tight waistline. At last night’s LACMA gala, Kim Kardashian also continued her Balenciaga kick in a floor-length couture with long sleeves and a high neckline — but all over black spandex noodle? It’s hardly dignified.
