This year’s whirlwind awards season is coming to a close, but it wouldn’t be complete without the SAG Awards and a star-studded red carpet. Hollywood’s top talent certainly didn’t disappoint tonight, preferring a more irreverent take on what SAG has come to expect. For the event at Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California, celebrities opted for eye-catching outfits filled with whimsical colours, rich textures and playful silhouettes.
When Zendaya stepped onto the carpet, the internet was instantly flooded with reactions to the Euphoria star’s look. To put her love of vintage clothing to rest, she opted for a custom strapless pink Valentino silk bustier gown with pink at the train Silk rosette. Best Actress nominee Michelle Yeoh also accepted a dress with an embellishment: her Schiaparelli couture design featured fringed gold sequins on the front. Party in the front, fashion in the back!
There is also a strong focus on color. Jessica Chastain sparkled in a pink off-the-shoulder Zuhair Murad ball gown; Viola Davis wore a Valentino column dress, also off-the-shoulder, for The red carpet brings a ray of sunshine. For Dior Haute Couture, Elizabeth Debicki opted for a moss green design that subtly expresses her personality.
As for best dressed man of the night, the top prize has to go to Eddie Redmayne (Eddie Redmayne), who opted for a white tie shirt and black dress pants from Saint Laurent’s fall collection (one of the best menswear shows of the season). Ditching the blazer for a bold tie is fresh and modern. Elvis star Austin Butler in a tailored Gucci three-piece suit with a stunning bow tie.
