Hey, Upper East Sider. On Monday night, Blake Lively made her red carpet debut since welcoming her fourth child with husband Ryan Reynolds in February. As usual, the stylist star didn’t disappoint. Channeling the event’s uptown vibe—the annual event at Barnard College—Lively gave a nod to the demure fashion common on her hit show Gossip Girl. Still, the elegant dress suited Blair Waldorf better than Lively’s own Serena van der Woodsen.
Hear me out: Carolina Herrera’s floral off-the-shoulder gown from the brand’s fall collection is similar to this one to Blair at The Oscar de la Renta dress worn in season four, and the character’s floral Hamptons wardrobe in season two. While Lively’s Serena is all about free-spirited style (she loves bohemian maxi dresses, little tank tops, and wide belts), Blair (played by Leighton Meester) has a sweeter, feminine sense of style, and Lively That’s on display on the red carpet this week. However, the star did pair the dress with pink Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps — we all know Serena loves to wander around New York in designer stilettos — and a very Vanderwood-esque wavy ponytail. She had to feel a little Serena in there.
