Blue Lock comics will be staged next May



Kodansha announced on Wednesday Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura of Soccer manga-inspired stage adaptation to be staged at Sankei Hall Breeze, Osaka, May 4-7, 176166, and the Sunshine Theater in Tokyo in May -, 2018. Ryōhei Takenaka (pictured below) plays the protagonist Yoichi Isaki.

Other cast members include Nobunaga Sato as Meguru Bachira, Shota Matsuda as Rensuke Kunigami and Ryō Saeki as Hyoma Chigiri.

Naohiro Ise is directing and writing the play.

is publishing comics in English digital and print form, it describes the story:

Got an ongoing comic in August 700. This manga won the best juvenile manga award from Kodansha Last year’s Comics of the Year Awards.

The manga inspired a TV anime that premiered on October 8th and is still in production. Crunchyroll is showing the series.
