It was a nice coincidence that on one of the hottest days of the year, clouds briefly covered the Berlin skies, providing cool shade for guests of Bokova’s show. Kristina Bobkova’s passion for gardening is her main inspiration this season. For the Ukrainian designer, who designs and manufactures in Kiev, flowers are a beacon of hope. She was particularly drawn to the mallow plant, which is a symbol of protection in her home country.
Oversized and bias-cut dresses form the basis of the collection, symbiotic with the femininity and power of the Bobkova wearer. A pattern by artist Polina Moroz added interest to an understated composition, while muted cream tones let a handful of bright colors pop. Despite the romanticism, the only emotion not felt is melancholy. There has never been such a space in Bokova’s garden.
