“I’m going to cry,” Brett Manlock after seeing him for Balmain Spring 380 Show the charm when speaking for the first time. But make sure any tears shed by social media sensations are joy. Rock was invited to host the brand’s pre-show TikTok live stream, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the magic behind a show as big as Balmain Fest, which includes couture, womenswear and menswear collections. “The most challenging part of hosting a live show is that there are so many hectic, moving parts behind the scenes, and I just had to go with the flow,” Rock said. “But honestly, it’s so much fun to just get caught up in the chaos. I really want to show the full backstage experience, and the authenticity of the preparations going into the finals.”

To prepare for this mission, Rock arrived early at the venue, which was large enough to accommodate approximately 380 Guest, for gorgeousness. For makeup, he wanted something “soft but scruffy” and “Farrah Fawcett blowout” hair. While donning his white wide-leg pants and white tuxedo top with lace panels, Rock sings a few bars of “Purple Rain.” He says he feels like a cross between Prince, Freddie Mercury, Jackie Chan and Fawcett – what more can you ask for when you debut at Paris Fashion Week?

While watching the three-part show, Rock found himself being adorned as well as the flame print that closed the series. For the black finale dress with flame detailing, Rock said, “Best believe I’ll be wearing that dress one day…I’m showing!” Above, watch Rock get ready for the Balmain Fest.
