Brooke Karzen steps down as Warner Horizon unscripted head

Brooke Karzen is stepping down as executive vice president and head of Warner Horizon Unscripted Television after more than 20 years in the business.

Kalzen reports to WBTV’s unscripted president Another Mike Darnell announced her departure in a memo to staff Monday, saying “it’s time for a change” ‘, as she plans to spend some time thinking about new opportunities.

Karzen has been with Warner since 2000 and has overseen The Bachelor and its numerous offshoots since its inception, Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. She also helped bring the voice of Mark Burnett to NBC. Her credits include 500 Questions, and Little Big Shots and Love at the first kiss.

Leaving Warner Bros. after 22 years was not an easy decision, but now is the time to make a change. I will take some time to consider new opportunities and am excited to start a new chapter.

leaving this incredible company with extremely mixed feelings, leaving behind so many wonderful people Colleagues and dear friends, outstanding people make this team one of the most dedicated and talented in the industry.

Together we pour all our energy and enthusiasm into some of the best unscripted shows on TV, like The Bachelor, The Voice, and Ellen’s show Game of Games, as well as countless specials and documentaries like Friends: Reunion and Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts. Together, we established Warner Horizon as the country’s first producer of unscripted shows.

I will forever cherish my experience with the company where I had the opportunity to work with people like Ava DuVernay, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, James Corden, Ben Winston, Casey Patterson, Leslie Iwerks, Arthur Smith, Mark Burnett and Audrey Morrissey of The Voice, Mike Fleiss of The Bachelor, and many other true business legends.

Most importantly, I will cherish the memory of working with this great team. I would like to thank Channing Dungey and Mike Darnell for their support as I begin the next chapter.
