The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a talented roster when they won the Super Bowl after the 2020 season, but Bruce Arians thinks the team’s current roster is better.
“The talent is out there. It’s the most talented roster we’ve ever had,” former Buccaneers head coach told Heavy.com of Matt Lombardo.
The Buccaneers are poised to create another title game this season, and it all started with the return of seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady.
This offseason, after Brady announced his retirement, the Buccaneers appear to be looking for a new quarterback or Deliver the reins to Celtrask. This didn’t last long, however, and Brady decided to return for season 23, citing “unfinished business.” And, despite the loss of Brady’s crime partner Rob Gronkowski, who retired this summer, The Buccaneers still have a solid tight end portfolio that includes Cameron Brett, Kyle Rudolph, Cade Orton and Coe Kift.
Tampa Bay signed Rudolph last month after spending 2021 campaign with the New York Giants A one-year contract.
In addition, the Buccaneers signed seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones this summer, adding him to include Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Russell Gage, Breshad Perryman, Geron Darden and Scotty Miller.
While the offense is considered one of the best in the NFL, the team’s defense is also impressive. Vita Vea, Akiem Hicks, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Devin White, Lavonte David, Shaquil Barrett, Carlton Davis III, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Sean Murphy-Bunting highlighted the defensive lineup.
Many of these players were members of Tampa Bay’s championship-winning team.
And there is no doubt that the Buccaneers have such talent, noted Arians, now a senior advisor to the general manager, If teams want to make it to the Super Bowl, they have to stay healthy.
“You have to be lucky,” Arians said. “At the end of last year’s season, injuries took a toll on us at receiver and defensive back. We’ve had injuries so far this year, so we have to stay healthy. That’s the biggest key for a lot of teams to get there.”
Unfortunately for the Pirates, starting center Ryan Jensen has been sidelined with a knee injury, and he The backup, Robert Haynesy, is dealing with an ankle ailment.
The Buccaneers open their 2022 game against the Dallas Cowboys on September 11 at AT&T Stadium.
