Winterbottom drew the ire of the Erebus garage during last Sunday’s supercar race in Pukekohe, when contact with Will Brown caused serious damage to Brown’s car.

Winterbottom to later talk to Brown and Ryan at the Erebus garage in an attempt to resolve the incident.
) Television cameras caught Ryan making light physical contact with Winterbottom on two occasions, urging him to leave the garage.
Motorsports Australia has now confirmed that the incident has been referred to stewards who will consider the next steps, if any, are required.
“Australian Motorsport can confirm that race director James Taylor has referred to an incident involving team members and a driver in the Erebus team garage, held in Pukekohe. Repco Motorsport Australia after race 28 of the Australian Motorsport ralia stewards,” read a statement from the governing body.
“The Steward will consider this matter and make any appropriate decisions in the coming weeks.”
In next month’s Bar Before the Thurst 1000, the accident provided Erebus with a major repair job, especially given the team’s planned deployment of three cars, including wildcards for Greg Murphy and Richie Stanaway.
Ryan made no secret of his disappointment at Winterbottom after his crash with Brown, calling for the veteran’s license to be revoked as punishment.
