N95 respirator mask
CDC has a large number of approved N95 masks. Unfortunately, many brands have fluctuating supplies, so you may want to check regularly to see which ones are in stock. Many stores also have regional inventory based on in-store supply, so be sure to check your local zip code at the various sites that apply.
If you need lots of cheap N95s, this bag from Kimberly-Clark is one of your best options one. Although these are NIOSH approved N95 respirators, they are not intended for medical use. If that’s not an issue for you, the horizontally foldable pouch and flexible nose pads should provide a secure seal around your face while still costing less than a dollar per mask.
This foldable face mask uses two head-worn straps to fit the mask snugly against your face while leaving considerable space in front of your mouth and nose Great breathing room. These are one of the pricier masks on our list, but members of our team have used these and found them comfortable and sturdy.
This model is one of many N95 masks approved by the CDC (and Often out of stock). It uses two separate straps to hold the mask tightly to your face. Members of our team have used these masks and found that they seal the face well, but still keep the nose and mouth far enough away for you to breathe and speak comfortably. This distance also helps keep the mask dry. Sadly, they didn’t fold.
Titan Protect’s masks are another expensive option, but you do get more per box than listed above those out. The NIOSH-certified mask features an adjustable aluminum nose bridge (to help prevent glasses from fogging up), upper and lower headbands for a secure seal, and a flat-fold design that fits most faces. It’s worth noting that this set comes in medium and large sizes, so those with smaller faces will want to consider another mask.
3M’s N95 respirators are individually packaged with two horizontal folds that form in front of your nose and mouth A decent sized cup. The mask comes with two straps that go around your head and neck for a tight seal. This is one of the smaller packs on our list, but you may find it easier to find stock in some stores.
Honeywell’s DF300 N95 is the more affordable option on this list. With this mask, you get multiple layers of absorption (including moisture and moisture filters), a soft inner liner, and a latex-free headband. The nose clip is also adjustable and hidden under the mask. It also comes with a soft foam nose pad that should make it more comfortable to wear for longer.
Vida’s KF94 face shield is also protective and stylish. It is FDA-approved, CE-approved (and made in Korea) and has a filtration efficiency of 94%. The four-layer mask comes in lovely pastel colors, including light green, light pink, and light blue. It is also available in various pack sizes from 10 to 1,000.
BOTN KF94 masks are only available in large and extra large for adults, so those with smaller faces should consider younger human size. The mask does come with adjustable ear loops and a nose piece, so if you opt for a larger size, it should help ensure a snug fit. It’s also available in a variety of colors, including beige, dark gray, pink, and yellow. There’s usually a coupon to clip onto the page and grab it for $19.
LG’s Airwasher mask is a standard KF94 with a three-dimensional design, four-layer fabric, adjustable nose clip and round ear hooks. If you want a slightly more advanced option, it’s also styled in black, which is likely to pair well with fancier outfits for more formal occasions.
As we mentioned above, KN95 masks are not suitable for high-risk individuals or medical settings, but if you Need better filtering than cloth masks for everyday use, low risk use, these are a good way to go. In addition to being cheaper per mask, they’re also available in a variety of colors, which makes it easier to coordinate outfits or mix things up occasionally. These KN95 masks are black and packaged individually. Compared to the N95 masks listed above, they are very cheap at less than a dollar each. They also happen to be our go-to face shields.
