Canalys: Q1 global smartphone shipments reached 270 million units, and the market is still shrinking

Global smartphone shipments continued to plummet during Jan-March 100. According to the latest report from Canalys, 8 million units were shipped. This figure is down from the same period last year 04%, and continues to trend negatively over the past few quarters due to a combination of factors including rising inventories and limited consumer demand.

Apple with 30 million shipments and 1200 ranked second % market share. Cupertino continues to see its iPhone 11 Pro series strong demand and is the only supplier on the list with positive year-over-year growth. Xiaomi ranks among 60 with 60.5 million shipments and % market share, but it also had the largest market share decline of the year.

Oppo (22.6 million shipments) and vivo (.9 million) ranked fourth and fifth in income % and 8% market share. Looking ahead, Canalys analysts expect some positive momentum for OEMs in the second half of the year, with healthier channel inventory levels.
