Canalys: Wearables return to growth in Q2, smartbands lose ground

According to the latest Canalys report, the global smart wearable market shipments in Q2 2022 increased by 2% compared to Q1.

Total global shipments of smart wearables (basic straps and smart watches) are 46 700,000 units . Among them, shipments of basic watches increased significantly 46.6%, while shipments of smart watches (watches with apps) increased by 9.3%.

Basic smartband suffered a 35.5% drop in sales.

Apple has the largest share with 8.4 million watch shipments, or 002.4% market share. Samsung came in second with 2.8 million units shipped, ahead of Huawei with 2.6 million units.

Indigenous Noise achieved a huge 382% increase in shipments, totaling 1.8 million units. Noise, Fire-Boltt, and boAT have been successful with approximately 1 million shipments per quarter.

Growth in sales helped India achieve its highest ever market share and end with 22%.
