The jury will screen together 16 Films selected for this year’s Cannes Film Festival – including Todd Haynes May December , Wes Anderson Asteroid City , Justin Treat Anatomy of Autumn and Old Oak from Ken Loach, fellow two-time Palme d’Or winner (Ken Loach) — and to select this year’s winners, presenting the 2022 May Closing Ceremony of the Palme d’Or 16.
Disney Pixar Animated Feature FilmElemental, from The Good Dinosaur Director Peter Sohn will close the festival with screenings after the awards ceremony.
Most of the jury has strong ties to Cannes. Ducournau presents her first short film, Junior by 2013, at Croisette, following Critics Week Raw in 2015, only to win the Palme d’Or Crush the Titane with Taboo in 2019. Dano walks the Cannes red carpet for Paolo Sorrentino’s Youth in 2015 and Bong Joon Ho’s Okja in 2019, the same year he screened his directorial debut, Wildlife, Cannes Critics’ Week. Nyoni’s debut feature I Am Not A Witch world premiere in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight sidebar 2016 ).
