against the background of the early th-century Chile, The Settlers revolves around a wealthy landowner trying to set the boundaries of his vast estate and carve out a route to the Atlantic across the vast Patagonian region. Accompanied by a young Chilean mulatto, an American mercenary and a brave British lieutenant, the expedition takes an unexpected turn and turns into a “civilized” assault on the natives.
