Cannes Film Festival: Sam Levinson fights back tears after 'Idol' premiere

HBO World Premiere of Controversial Sexy Pop Star SeriesIdol received a courtesy applause from the festival audience at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday night with the standard 5 minute standing ovation and a few tears. Series director and co-creator Sam Levinson began to choke up during his post-screening acknowledgments.

Saying it was a “dream” to attend Cannes, Levinson refuted about set chaos and Series reporting on poor working conditions during production, said he was “proud of the show and the way we made it.”
