After joining
In 48, Strong went on to create countless recurring characters such as Cathy Anne and Tammy the Trucker, and modeled after Kendall Jenner, Megyn Kelly and Liz Cheney. It is understood that Strong has been planning to return only for the first half of the season 48 because she is looking forward to new opportunities.
“My heart is about to burst. I have so much life-changing love to unpack, so here’s what I can say tonight,” Strong started her Instagram post recalling when she landed a SNL cast.
She shares the story of her first night at Studio 8H and how, after saying goodbye to her new colleagues, she couldn’t find the ‘secret night elevator,’ so She had to go back for help.
“I ended up going upstairs and my soon-to-be best friend Colin Jost helped me out and took me to the secret night elevator,” Strong continued. “Leaving that night felt as impossible as it is now. My good friend Colin Jost finally helped me out again, this time by getting Elvis to sing for me (thank you Austin Butler, your absolutely kind and generous dream ship).
She apologized for her silence on leaving, explaining that she didn’t want to add extra stress to something she was “already so emotional about.”
“I’m grateful for the last six great shows that helped me ease into it, start meeting, laughing, maybe even over hugging
The comedian ended her post, “I’m ready, but I’ll always know home is here. I’ve had the time of my life working with the greatest people on Earth. ”
Strong marks the next castmember to leave SNL since May Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson , Kate McKinnon and Kyle Mooney left the show. Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor and Aristotle Athari left the show in the summer and finally Chris Redd in September.
