The CW is ramping up its fall schedule —and bringing some familiar faces back to the network.
The broadcaster has partnered with Canadian networks CTV and Fremantle to air Sullivan’s Crossing, a neurosurgery Doctor’s family drama (Morgan Kohan of Hallmark’s When Hope Calls ) returns to her small hometown after a professional scandal. Gilmore Girls alumnus Scott Patterson and ex-One Tree Hill Protagonist Chad Michael Murray (he’s still at Gilmore Girls ) is also a star.
Based on the novel by Virgin River author Robyn Carr, the series airs on The CW in the fall. It’s currently airing episodes of on CTV.
“ Sullivan’s Crossing is an emotional, true family drama that will immediately Resonate with audiences and relatable themes of self-reflection, second chances and the power of community,” said CW Entertainment President Brad Schwartz. “In addition to Morgan Kohan’s breakout performance, bringing Chad and Scott back to The CW’s hometown is pretty special.”
Under new owner Nexstar, The CW is expected to rely on lower -Cost, acquiring series like Sullivan’s Crossing to occupy a significant portion of its primetime schedule. Only one of the network’s current script series, All American, has been updated for 24-24 There is less than a month until the network announces its slate for the upcoming season.
Sullivan’s Crossing will also help ensure that The CW has at least one scripted show ready to air in the fall American Writers Association strike disrupts normal production flow in the US
